Guitar and Voice
Amanda is one of the leading guitarists of her generation, acclaimed for her sensitive musicality, fluid technique, and ability to draw the audience in to her world. Together with soprano Bibi Heal, the duo present an entertaining programme of the heartwarming to the heartbreaking, as they trace the common themes of love, trust and tragedy through folk tales.
The music of Britten, de Falla and Rodrigo is brought alive by the intimate pairing of voice and guitar. The programme will also feature the world premiere of a work by Welsh guitarist Gerard Cousins, commissioned by the Cardiff Guitar Festival in partnership with Tŷ Cerdd.

The Anchoress
THE ANCHORESS is a stage name of the Welsh musician and songwriter Catherine Anne DAVIES from Glynneath. DAVIES worked under her name or other stage name CATHERINE AD for years, releasing solo albums and collaborating with the likes of SIMPLE MINDS, THE VEILS, and is also member of a supergroup THE DARK FLOWERS. In 2013 she formed THE ANCHORESS through which she creates alternative pop music with artful and progressive rock sensibilities influenced by the likes of Kate BUSH, David BOWIE, THE CARPENTERS and similar DAVIES is the only member of the project with some additional musicians, but is helped in the production and writing department by Paul DRAPER of MANSUN fame on her debut album.
